The Usual Suspects Smell Blood

Fonda and Her Cohorts Sense a Weakened President and Nation

She won't sit in an enemy tank this time, but she smells the blood of a wounded President and nation, and that of its noble soldiers, and decides its time to once more move in for the kill.

This anti-American crowd, ungrateful for their wealth, safety and security, are once again baring their fangs, eager to rip into the heart of America's ability to survive.

Protest Focuses on Troop Increase for Iraq

Protest on the mall - New York Times: By IAN URBINA, Published: January 28, 2007 —

Tens of thousands of protesters converged on the National Mall on Saturday to oppose President Bush’s plan for a troop increase in Iraq in what organizers hoped would be one of the largest shows of antiwar sentiment in the nation’s capital since the war began.

The event drew demonstrators from across the country, and many said that in addition to taking their discontent to the streets they planned to press members of Congress to oppose the war. "When we voted it was a directive to bring our troops home now," said the Rev. Graylan S. Hagler of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington, referring to the November elections when Democrats won control of Congress. Demonstrators listened to speeches from a roster of politicians and entertainment figures including the Rev. Jesse Jackson; Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, Democrat of Ohio and a candidate for the presidency in 2008; and Representative Maxine Waters, Democrat of California. The actors Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins also addressed the crowd.

The protest was largely organized by the group United for Peace and Justice, a coalition of 1,400 local and national organizations. Included in the coalition are the National Organization for Women, United Church of Christ, the American Friends Service Committee, True Majority, Military Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans Against the War, the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, CodePink, MoveOn.org, and September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows.

Counter protesters also converged on the mall in smaller numbers.

“We never lost a battle in Vietnam but we lost the war, and the same is going to be true in Iraq if these protesters have their way,” said Larry Stark, 71, a retired Navy officer who fought in Vietnam for five years and was a prisoner of war during that conflict.

Mr. Stark said that the protesters were undermining troop morale and increasing the likelihood of a premature withdrawal. “It’s like we never learn from the past,” he said.

Ghouls

Ms. Fonda did us all a favor for many years after being rejected by half of America and hated by the military, by making half-hearted apologies and keeping silent with her vicious anti-Americanism. She mistakenly believes that enough time has passed, and that the 70's have returned again with the howls of ghouls like Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and Cindy Sheehan, who cause more death and destruction for American GI's than Al-Queda ever could.

May free speech reign, as I always say. This is America. Let them speak.

Then, after they have spoken, we will speak. We will proclaim the truth about them, and not let them get away with murder.

A Message for Moderates

I know you are confused, or think our feelings about Ms. Fonda are extreme. In my opinion, they are not. I do not advocate that any harm come to Ms. Fonda, nor to her compadres. I want to afford them the right to their views. They have a right to gather, and say anything they feel is true.

My only goal is to counter their arguments. Plus, some of what they do is done in the mistaken belief that they are being heroes. They envision themselves as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington type people or John Doe types. I want to clarify, for any of their fans, for the nation, and for Ms. Fonda et al, that they are not heroes. They are the exact opposite. Since celebrities want above all else to be liked, (followed by their desire to make millions of dollars off the capitalism they abhor), I want to show them that their hateful views do not make them liked. Rather, they are despised, by at least a significant portion of the nation.

Maybe, maybe, they will stop and consider their positions. Probably not. At least, though, some of their fans will reconsider their devotion to them, and—hoping against hope—their box office will slip.

Brazen Battleaxe Bimbo

Cindy:
old
razy
ommunist
aterwauler

Cindy Sheehan is a nutcase, whacked out, amoral, unprincipled, dictator-loving, America-hating dingbat from hell; and these are her good points.

Why It's Okay to Bash Cindy Sheehan

Cindy Sheehan dishonors the memory of her son by attacking the people and ideals her son died for, and by supporting the monsters that killed him. Her son would not approve of the way she is using his name to promote her own Anti-American agendas. She hates America and her son did not.Her son gave up his life for America in its war on terror; Cindy has given up her life for self-aggrandizement on behalf of evil.

Cindy at Guantanamo

Cindy's most recent exploit is her protesting Guantanamo. She and her other whacko leftists are objecting to America's "torture" tactics at the prison and the "inhumane" treatment of the prisoners.

This is really interesting, since prisoners at Guantanamo are treated with kid gloves these days, have access to the Red Cross, get recreation hours, top medical treatment, prayer time five times a day with official Qurans, good food in compliance with Muslim precepts, and all the legal rights now due them by recent court decisions. What does she want for them, cake on their birthdays? These fiends get this class A treatment despite the fact that they continue to plot the murder of their jailors, throw feces at them at every opportunity, and hatch plots to massacre Americans once they get out of there.

Her Buddy Castro

Cindy's hypocrisy is galling. Guantanamo sits in an area near 14 Cuban prisons. In these Cuban hellholes, prisoners do not get medical care, have sub par food, no access to lawyers, no trials, and no communications with family and friends. Cindy was asked by the wives and mothers of these Cuban prisoners (whose crime was to speak out against Castro, nothing more), to protest these prisons too. Cindy and her hypocritical friends ignored the women's request. Cindy will never protest her buddy Castro. After all, he is an evil dictator, a communist, and a thug—one of Cindy's kindred spirits.

Cindy's Influence

Cindy thinks she is in part responsible for the Democratic victory in the recent elections, and for the country's mood swing against the Iraq War. I hope not. I suspect that people reached their conclusions for the elections without the aid of the brilliant Sheehan mind. I rather suspect that she has marginalized herself, and that most of America know her for what she is, a narcissistic loon from the left.

Cindy's Wish

I have a suggestion that will make both Cindy and America happy. I suggest that they give her what she is asking for. Let her into Guantanamo. Then, invite her into a cell; shut the door, lock it, and throw away the key. Then, "torture" her by forcing her to watch FOX news all day long.

She'd be happy because her theory about the way America arrests Guantanamo prisoners for no reason would be proven true; she'd be a martyr to her cause; and she'd also be proving that America "tortures" its Guantanamo prisoners. Everyone would be happy.

Guantanamo, Guantanamo, Guantanamo,
It's a crime and a frickin' sin,
We've got to let Cindy in.
Then keep, Cindy, in.
Keep her in, keep her in, keep her in.
Don't let Cindy out.
Give her more reasons to shout.
Make her watch FOX, while she sits on an ox,
Forced to munch bagels and lox and…
For God's sake, let her in.
If you don't, it's a big fat sin.

Where Are You Cindy, Guardian of Human Rights?

Babalu Blog: What will Cindy do?: Wives of jailed dissidents urge U.S. activist Sheehan to visit Cuba's prisons. January 08, 2007.
The Ladies in White wrote a letter to Cindy Sheehan and her Code Pinko cohorts asking the group to visit a Cuban prison and attest to the inhumane conditions of same:

HAVANA: Wives and mothers of Cuban political prisoners urged U.S. peace activist Cindy Sheehan on Monday to visit the island's state-run jails during her weeklong trip to Cuba to call for the closure of the U.S.-operated Guantanamo prison.

The Ladies in White, a group of women demanding the release of their loved ones, described what they called "inhumane" conditions at Cuba's prisons in a letter for Sheehan that was sent to international reporters. The group said it was trying to get a copy to Sheehan as well.

"At the same time you and your noble followers fight for the closure of the U.S. prison at the Guantanamo naval base ... just a few miles away at the provincial Guantanamo prison in Cuban territory, peaceful and defenseless political prisoners suffer inhumane conditions, (living) without potable water and with poor nutrition, deficient medical assistance, insects and rodents, limited visits and precarious communication," the letter said.

"We exhort you to visit the prisons of Cuba, chosen randomly, and not those prepared" by authorities, it added.

Cindy's Son

BLACKFIVE: Army Specialist Casey Sheehan - Someone You Should (Have) Know(n): Posted By Blackfive.
Casey Sheehan grew up in a devout Catholic home. He served as an altar boy and then as a key member of his church's youth group for years.

When he was old enough, Casey joined the Boy Scouts, becoming the very second Eagle Scout out of his troop.

He enlisted in the Army when he was twenty years old.

See the above linked post for the rest of this article on Casey.

Story of Two Families

Also, read this book about the way two families handled the death of their sons in the Iraq war, the Sheehans and the Johnsons.

"AMERICAN Mourning" is an elegantly lyrical book about soldiers and sons killed in combat. The authors compare how two American families - the Sheehans and the Johnsons - reacted to the loss of their sons in combat in Iraq, and how they are in many ways a metaphor for the country itself. The story juxtaposes the grieving process of the two families - especially Cindy Sheehan, Casey's mother, and Joe Johnson, Justin's father, showing how each reacted to the worst news a parent can receive in radically different ways.

Cindy Sheehan directed her grief and anger not at the terrorists whom she called "freedom fighters." She said that she "did not blame the man who killed Casey" but instead blamed President Bush whom she holds accountable for the lost soldiers. Joe Johnson's grief also flared as white-hot anger, and at age 45 he joined the National Guard determined to go to Iraq as a gunner and "kill the bastards" who killed his beloved Justin. The media portrayed Cindy as "Mother Sheehan," a grief-stricken mother whose world had been destroyed and who wished only to be consoled by President Bush.

But the authors recount a back-story that documents a massive, highly professional and well-orchestrated PR campaign backed by deep-pocketed sponsors like MoveOn.org and George Soros. At some point Sheehan morphed into an aggressive feminist who abandoned her family, ran off with another man and embraced the radical agenda that the anti-Bush movement used her to promote.

Joe Johnson trained hard, went to Iraq and patrolled the deadly roads laced with IEDs and ambushes. He resumed drinking after Justin's death and reportedly continues to seek solace in the bottle, though he has given up his mission of personally avenging his son's loss by killing terrorists. Both Cindy and Joe put their spouses and families through additional stress by internalizing their anger and abandoning their families to fend for themselves. Cindy left permanently, while Joe eventually came home to face his demons.--New York Post, November 19, 2006

Put Your Thinking Caps On

Democratic Control of Congress

Let's Decrease the Influence of Lobbyists by Fundraisers with Lobbyists

Well, today is the day. Democrats take power in congress. Hold on to your wallets, and pray for the military.

I don't mind Nancy Pelosi's emphasis on ethics for her first 100-hour push. I think it's okay to aspire to clean house, so to speak, and get rid of some corruption if that is possible. I think it's kind of odd, though, that at the same time she is planning to reduce the power of lobbyists with new restrictions (no private jets and junkets), she has already scheduled events for lobbyists that include top-notch entertainers.

Ethics Overhaul Tops the Agenda in New Congress - New York Times:

And the Democratic Party's fund-raising machine, revved up by the advantages of being in the majority, continued apace this week with individual members inviting lobbyists and other contributors to a host of events.

On Thursday night, Mrs. Pelosi is having a $1,000-a-head fund-raiser with performances by Tony Bennett, Carole King, Wyclef Jean and the surviving members of the Grateful Dead. "Pelosi is a huge Dead fan," her spokeswoman said.

Business as usual, you might say.

Cindy is Protesting—the Democrats!

Meanwhile, antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan and others interrupted a Democratic news conference with chants of “Troops home now; de-escalate, investigate." I like that. A new cheer. It's better than "No war for oil." It's catchier. I'd like Ms. Sheehan to follow her own wise advice. She should go home now; de-escalate the tone of her rhetoric; and investigate her own sanity.

Fresh Eyes can Focus on a New Vision

Power of the Blogosphere

Despite the fact that I don't trust Pelosi nor the Democrats, I'm happy that, because of them, our government and people are taking a new look at some important issues, like corruption, Iraq, government spending, and immigration. Now that we are focused, it is a good idea to carefully formulate our vision for these issues, whatever that vision may be. The politicians are listening now. As you know, the political world is paying close attention to the blogosphere these days, so what we say matters, now more than ever. So do speak up.

For example, we won't change corruption in Washington forever, we know that. But we, both the liberal and conservative bloggers, can help "throw the bums out" when we do catch a corruptor, and we'll do it again if this crop disappoints us.

Let's be real careful, too, whom we elect as our next president. Put your thinking caps on.
